With parents who live in the area, Abi told me that she always knew she wanted to get married in Sotogrande so when she and David started to plan their wedding, they already had a few ideas of where they wanted it to be. The clear front runner was the Polo fields and restaurant close to Sotogrande and once I’d told them that we’d had a number of fantastic weddings at the venue, they knew it would be perfect for them as well.
For Abi having her parents here in Spain, it certainly made things easier as (not one to do things by half), she and David had plans to open a business shortly before the wedding. It was a change and a lovely alteration for me as well, as, although I do meet the parents usually before the wedding, it’s only for a quick chat and here I was able to really get to know Judith and Harvey.
Abi and David wanted a simplistic style with a mixture of white, pale pink and green floral accents and as the venue is such a pretty one, we only needed to add a few accents to enhance the beauty for the wedding!
Abi had chosen pale pink for the bridesmaids dresses so I suggested small bouquets all in white for them so that her bouquet, which would be bigger, wilder and full of pinks, greens and just a little white. We continued the colour theme with the gorgeous arch for the ceremony, adding lots and lots of roses and hydrangeas surrounded by eucalyptus, ivy and other winding greenery.
For the table we had the same flow of flowers in different sized vases interspersed with candles – we didn’t want it to be too cluttered as guests were sharing dishes on the tables.
When we started discussing music, Abi knew instantly that she wanted the fantastic Quike Navarro for the ceremony and he entertained guests while they arrived as well. The Legal Aliens took over for the cocktail hour and then provided the music towards the end of dinner and for the party afterwards.
Dinner itself began with 3 brilliant speeches and was followed by some sumptuous food and delicious desserts! Once the cake was cut after dinner, (made by the wonderful Cake Couture Marbella), guests started dancing and didn’t stop until the early hours!
Thank you as always to the wonderful Mireia Cordomi for capturing the magic!
