Allie & Dale first got in touch six months before their wedding… they had been to Southern Spain a few months previously and seen all it’s natural beauty, they fell in love with all it’s charm. Coming from Bermuda but with most family in Canada and in other far flung places around the world meant that Spain was a great place for them all to come together to celebrate their wedding.
It took a while to find the right venue as Allie knew exactly what she wanted but when I sent her the photos from Cortijo Pedro Jimenez, I knew it was the one! They both loved the style, the views and the fact that they could continue with music late into the night.
It wasn’t hard to decide on the other aspects with them – Radka Horvath captured the day in all it’s glory and the team from Evergreen immortalised the day on film. DJ Tristan Harper was on hand to play all the tunes throughout the day from the emotional John Legend’s All of Me for the bridal processional to Kanye West’s Good Life for their entrance to dinner; while the Mariachi Band kept it lively and entertaining throughout the cocktail hour.
The Cortijo was also the ideal backdrop for the colours Allie and Dale wanted with green and white leading the way and hints of gold here and there. We tried to keep it all as natural as possible and I think the overall effect was beautiful. Our in-house décor team did a fabulous job on the ceremony set up and the lighting over dinner while as usual Earthscent’s flowers were breath-taking for the centrepieces and bouquets.
Gusto Catering provided the wonderful food and drink for the day, with sumptuous barbequed meats and fish following some delicious canapes.
Special thanks to Nicola McGeorge and Alex Harrocks for make up and hair on the day!
