When Sydney and Adam first got in contact about their ideas for their wedding in Marbella, I knew instantly that I’d have such fun planning their wedding. Sydney had a clear vision about what she wanted and as Marbella was they place that they’d first met, they knew it would always be where they would tie the knot.
Coming from California, Sydney flew over with her mother and sister for a venue visit and we spent a fun few days visiting the beach locations along the coast. Trusting Sydney completely, Adam knew he’d love whatever she did and when they settled on Del Mar at the Hotel Puente Romano, I knew they’d made a great choice.
We spent the preceding months booking in the suppliers that would suit their style of wedding and we had great fun styling the wedding with Sydney’s favourite colour and flower – bright pink bougainvillea!
The backdrop at Del Mar is effortlessly beautiful and guests were in awe of the location.
In keeping with the US tradition, the couple did their first look in the beautiful gardens of the hotel along with the entire bridal party – decked out in bow ties for the gents and bright, individual dresses for the ladies.
Once all the guests had been seated, it all began and one of their close friends presided over the emotional ceremony. Guests then enjoyed sumptuous canapes and drinks overlooking the pristine beach before heading inside the restaurant for dinner but not before being treated to a medley of dances by the couple for their first dance as husband and wife.
With a buffet style sharing dinner complete with lobster, steak and other delicious treats, guests were able to mingle and speak to the bride and groom before the speeches. Both emotional and funny, they rounded off the meal perfectly and lead straight into the first dances – Sydney with her father, and Adam with his mother.
The party then really did get under way with dancing at the restaurant until 12.30am followed by the hard core party goers continuing at one of the hotels bars into the early hours.
As ever a big thank you to everyone involved including Lyndsey Cavanagh & Emma Kiernan for make up and hair, Earthscent for the gorgeous flowers, David de Biasi for capturing these beautiful photos and Anker Prod for the fabulous video.
