Ali and James chose April this year to celebrate their wedding at the beautiful Hotel Monasterio de San Martin. Initially a little worried about the weather (the rain in Spain falls mainly… in April!), but the day couldn’t have been brighter or more glorious for them.
With some family heartache in the weeks preceding the wedding, it was lovely to see the couple relax and enjoy their day. Beginning with drinks in the courtyard followed by a heart-warming ceremony presided over by the lovely Natasha Johnson. Both Ali and James had written their own vows and guests both laughed and cried during the ceremony.
After a drinks reception with Spanish guitarist Pepe, guests moved across the hotel to the renovated stable yard where they dined under the fading Spanish sun.
The couple had decided to space out the speeches between courses and what speeches they were. Ali’s father gave a touching tribute to his beautiful daughter while James left no dry eye in the house and then his best woman regaled the guests with stories from his childhood.
It was Ali’s musical mother and siblings who really got the crowd going – firstly with a Disney number (cleverly re-worked to be about the couple) followed by a flash mob including a number of guests in the audience! Needless to say Ali and James were speechless!
DJ Lee was on the decks for the party after dinner, which lasted until the early hours while guests enjoyed sweet churros and savory buns for a late night snack.
The talented Radka Horvath captured the day while Salvador and his team at Evergreen Films caught the magical moments on film.
